Colin’s credentials and how to check his licence
Colin is a Registered Physiotherapist licensed with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). He holds a Master of Physiotherapy from McMaster University and a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). You can check his licence on the CHCPBC public registry.
To search the CHCPBC public registry, ask us for Colin’s full name when you call or book.
Languages: English and Chinese
Colin speaks English and Chinese, so you can talk through your symptoms, questions and home exercises in whichever of the two feels more natural to you. Our team serves patients in English, and you are welcome to bring a family member or friend along to help.
A Chinese version of this page is also available.
How Colin approaches physiotherapy
Colin’s approach centres on understanding the factors contributing to your symptoms, then building an individualized treatment plan with you. He combines hands-on treatment, exercise and education, aiming to help you move with greater confidence and less discomfort, and to support long-term improvement toward the goals you set together.
Individual results vary.
Who Colin works with
Colin works with a wide range of people, from those managing everyday aches and pains to active individuals and athletes looking to return to their sport. Wherever you are starting from, his goal is to meet you where you’re at and to make rehabilitation feel less daunting and more enjoyable.
If knee pain brings you in, start with our knee pain and physiotherapy guide.
Outside the clinic
Outside the clinic, Colin likes to stay active at the gym and through sport, mainly volleyball, along with the occasional drop-in basketball session. If returning to your own sport or gym routine is a goal, tell him at your first visit.
Your first visit with Colin
Your first visit starts with a conversation about your symptoms, history and goals. Colin works to understand what is contributing to them, explains what he finds in plain language and agrees a treatment plan with you. You do not need a doctor’s referral to book physiotherapy in BC.
Bring your extended health plan details, your ICBC claim number and BC Personal Health Number (PHN) if you were hurt in a car crash, and any imaging or medical reports you already have.
Some extended health plans still ask for a referral before they reimburse (CLHIA said in April 2024 that insurers are reducing this), so check your plan. More in our first physiotherapy appointment guide and referral and coverage guide.
When to see a doctor first: see a doctor or go to emergency before physiotherapy if you have severe pain after a fall or crash, a possible broken bone, new numbness or weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain, fever with back pain, or rapidly worsening symptoms. In an emergency call 9-1-1; for non-urgent advice call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1.
Fees, insurance and ICBC
