Can You Have Acupuncture and Massage on the Same Day?

Short answer

Yes, they can be combined. Mandy Tam, R.Ac, says acupuncture and massage therapy work in different ways and can complement each other, and Artemis offers both in one place. If you already feel exhausted, sore or sensitive, she may suggest doing less at one time.

About this video

Two services, one conversation about your care

Artemis Wellness Clinic offers both acupuncture and massage therapy in Richmond, BC. In this video, Mandy Tam discusses how the two services may complement each other and how patients can coordinate their care in one place. She uses muscle tension, discomfort and stress as examples of concerns people may want to discuss.

More treatment is not always the right choice

The decision to combine appointments is individual. Mandy explains that someone who already feels exhausted, sore or sensitive may not want to do everything at once. Her closing message is simple: a supportive plan can also mean recognizing when the body needs a little less.

What Mandy Tam, R.Ac says in the video, from its captions.

Yes, and honestly, sometimes that is a really lovely combination. Acupuncture and massage therapy work in different ways, but they can complement each other beautifully. For example, if you're dealing with muscle tension, pain, stress, or feeling like your body is just constantly switched on, combining the two may help you feel more relaxed and supported.

At Artemis, we have both acupuncture and massage therapy, so you can coordinate your care in one place. But I always like to look at the individual person. If you are already feeling exhausted, sore, or sensitive, we may not want to do everything at once.

Sometimes the best treatment is not more treatment. Sometimes it is knowing when your body needs a little less.
